#  infra3D Classic is being phased out – information and your transition to infra3D NextGen

Thank you for an era: infra3D Classic will be phased out at the end of 2027👋

infra3D NextGen has now been available for over two years and has established itself as a powerful and future-proof platform. To drive further development forward consistently and continue to offer you added value, infra3D Classic will be phased out as planned – support and the product lifecycle will be discontinued in stages.

![infra3D-Classic-to-Next Gen](https://events.infra3d.com/hs-fs/hubfs/infra3D-Classic-to-Next%20Gen.png?width=1260&height=308&name=infra3D-Classic-to-Next%20Gen.png "infra3D-Classic-to-Next Gen")

The following timetable provides an overview of all relevant dates relating to the end of support and the end of the product lifecycle for infra3D Classic. It covers the web front-end, the infra3D Classic API and existing integrations across all products, and will help you plan your migration to infra3D NextGen.

## Transition timetable

| **Meilenstein** | **Date** | **What does this phase mean for you? ** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| End of Support (EoS) | 31.12.2026 | - **Discontinuation of technical support:** Technical support for infra3D Classic – including fault diagnosis, technical enquiries and assistance – will officially end on 31 December 2026. From 1 January 2027, we will focus our resources exclusively on the further development and support of infra3D NextGen.  - **No bug fixes or maintenance releases:** From this date onwards, no further bug fixes, security updates or technical optimisations will be provided for infra3D Classic. Please note that compatibility issues arising from future updates to operating systems, browsers or third-party systems cannot be resolved after this date.  - **End of product development:** infra3D Classic will no longer receive any functional enhancements or new features. From this point onwards, our entire product development roadmap will focus exclusively on the future-proof infra3D NextGen to ensure that you always benefit from the latest technological advances.  |
| End of Life (EoL) | 31.12.2027 | - **Complete discontinuation of the product:** On this date, infra3D Classic will be officially replaced and discontinued from our product portfolio. This includes both the web front-end and all associated components required for the operation of the Classic environment.  - **Discontinuation of API services:** All infra3D Classic APIs, which serve as interfaces for WebGIS integrations, data exchange or the connection of third-party systems, will be permanently discontinued. After the EoL date, data access via these interfaces will no longer be possible.  - **No further operation planned:** From 1 January 2028, infra3D Classic will cease to be usable entirely. After this cut-off date, the software will no longer be operational and will no longer be supported by us in any way. We accept no liability or warranty for systems that continue to be based on infra3D Classic after this date.    |

## Frequently asked questions

What does the End of Support (EoS) mean for me?

From 31 December 2026, technical support for infra3D Classic will no longer be provided. This means: no bug fixes, no security updates and no assistance with technical queries.

What happens at End of Life (EoL)?

On 31 December 2027, infra3D Classic will be completely discontinued. All services, including the web front-end and APIs, will be shut down. From 1 January 2028, it will no longer be possible to use the service.

Can I continue to use infra3D Classic until then?

Yes, your infra3D Classic is currently running stably and can continue to be used until End of Life. As soon as we have planned a migration, we will implement it accordingly.

What does this mean for me specifically if I have already migrated?

There is currently no need for you to take any action. You can continue to use infra3D NextGen as normal.
This information is primarily for your guidance: if infra3D Classic is still in use within your organisation, the relevant dates and deadlines will apply – in particular, the discontinuation of the service in January 2028.

Why should I switch to infra3D NextGen?

With infra3D NextGen, you get a modern, powerful and future-proof platform that is continuously being developed. New features such as point cloud and measurement result export, touch control, AI analyses and enhanced capabilities in projects and administration ensure greater efficiency. It is also important to note that infra3D Classic will no longer be in operation from 2028, and that support and fault rectification will cease from 2027.

Will tried-and-tested features from infra3D Classic also be available in NextGen?

Yes, infra3D NextGen will retain the existing functionalities. The specific implementation may change, but all use cases will still be supported and will be enhanced by new features. Should this, contrary to expectations, not be possible, we would welcome your feedback.

How will I be supported during the migration?

Your personal Key Account Manager will provide you with individual support. Together, you will analyse your setup and draw up a migration plan tailored to your processes.

How can I best prepare for the migration?

Make use of the infra3D Academy: in webinars, you’ll gain practical insights and specific guidance to ensure a smooth transition to infra3D NextGen.

Can I speed up the migration to infra3D NextGen?

Yes, simply contact your Key Account Manager or get in touch with us directly at sales@inovitas.ch.

Is there a cost associated with migrating to infra3D NextGen?

No, for users who use infra3D Classic directly (without a third-party system), the switch to infra3D NextGen is generally possible at no extra cost – whilst offering added value and new features.

Costs may only arise if infra3D is integrated via third-party systems and new or customised API connections need to be developed for this purpose. There are no additional costs for users who use infra3D directly, nor for API integrations that have already been migrated.
